The Austin Dog Alliance (ADA) celebrated the grand opening of its new indoor training center in North Austin on April 4. The climate-controlled facility, located at 12129 FM 620 North, Suite 401, Austin, offers a comfortable environment for a wide variety of fun and innovative classes designed for pets and owners of all ages.
Courses offered at the ADA Training Center range from Pet Therapy Training to Freestyle Canine Dancing. Puppy Pre-school and Pet Dog Manners/Canine Good Citizen classes are offered on a continuous basis. A complete class schedule is available on the ADA web site, AustinDogAlliance.org.
In addition to classes, the ADA operates a rescue and adoption program. Each dog must pass a temperament test given by an evaluation team and then the dog is placed in a foster home. The goal is to select well-adjusted dogs that will happy in homes with children and other dogs. Applications for adoption are available on the web site.
The ADA is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization with the mission of making dogs an integral part of the community. By promoting behavioral training and the benefits of well behaved dog family members, the ADA hopes to reduce the “recycled dog” problem affecting the community’s shelters.
