Post-Steampunk Era Calculation Engine (Personal Computer, Circa 2009) --a derivative inspired by Charles Babbage's 1822 "Difference Engine" Mechanical Computer. Steam what??? --Steampunk, a literary and fashion movement bent on bringing Victorian-era aesthetics to 20 and 21st century technology, i.e. retrofuturism. Look it up in the web. Interesting things happening now.
This is a special hand made item meant for someone who appreciates and longs for yesteryear styling in every day life. It's a Personal computer with a very decent, zippy and modern Athlon 64 Dual Core 3400+ CPU, Upgradeable ASUS AM2+ motherboard (AM3 ready), 160GB Hitachi SATA Hard Drive, and 2GB of Mushkin DDR2 / PC 800 RAM. The computer case is made to look like and old victorian clock (think Big Ben) and features a "skeleton clock" showing all the clock works (battery operated) combined with Power / HDD LED's.
Ubuntu Linux is standard (really very nice OS you should try it). Windows is optional (inquire). LG 22X "Super-Multi" DVD +- RW (shown) is standard. Currently, arrangements are being made to have a permanent demo system(s) at a location on Duval in the UT campus area. Your price $926.89.
