Shepherd - Medium - Adult - Female - Dog - Pia the Bridge Gir
Description
Please contact Sharri (sharriboyett@gmail.com), (512) 392-9749 for more information about this pet.“Pia” came to me with a littler of 3 off a river bank. With 3 babies pulling on her she was on her last leg when I found her. After letting her nurse her family to 10 – 12 weeks, I adopted out all of her pups and her too, but she came back to me. Her health is now restored, she is spayed and fully vetted. I am very religious about administering heart guard every 30 days. Her heart worms are suppose to die on their own if this is done regularly every 30 days according to the Vet. However, Austin Animal Trustees (AAT) provides some inexpensive treatment for this condition should a qualified adopter be interested. I will wave the re-homing fee if the adopter shows proof of Pia completing the AAT program. Pia “Sits” on command, shakes hands, is house-broken, and leashes so easily you hardly know she's there. She would need more work on the “Come” command before being turned off-leash. She weighs 65 lbs and needs to Not be overfed. Her age is 3 1/2 yrs and rarely barks, making her a good choice for apartment living as long as she is not kept in a crate. She does not chew or dig (although a toy or 2 would be nice). She stays pretty much to herself, but is good with children. She has great temperament, gets along with other dogs, but needs to be watched around very small dogs and cats. She is NOT cat friendly. We think she is a Shepherd/Chow mix. I can mail her story, which was printed in the local paper, to anyone interested in providing a good “forever” home for this great girl. A $65 re-homing fee will apply, but will be refunded upon proof of AAT Program completion.
