CATH LAB RN - AUSTIN, TX
Under the general supervision of the Cath Lab Manager / Designee, the Registered Nurse is responsible for professional nursing care and related assistance to patients experiencing cardiac intervention upon admission to the department. The Registered Nurse utilizes the nursing process in ensuring safe and competent quality patient care. The Registered Nurse in the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory supports the medical care of all patient requiring any cardiac or peripheral intervention under the direction of the Medical Staff pursuant to the mission and objectives of the hospital. This individual maintains a complete Intraoperative record and is responsible for the patient during the pre-operative, intra-operative and immediate post operative period. This person ensures a safe environment for the patient and others, appropriately communicates with physicians, co-workers, volunteers, other hospital departments and patient family members. The nurse acts to provides care in a competent, effective and cost effective manner. The Registered Nurse provides direction to LVNs and non-licensed assistive nursing personnel in providing direct patient care. The Registered Nurse is responsible for delegating nursing tasks based on the needs of the patient and the knowledge and skills of the individual selected to perform such tasks.
Qualifications
* Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing; Bachelor's degree or educational plan to complete degree.
* Current State of Texas license/permit to practice professional nursing.
* Completion of Basic Life Support or other certification based on nursing unit requirements.
* Three or more years experience in a cath lab with diagnostic, peripheral, interventional and electrophysiology experience.
* Professional Certification in clinical area or management.
