I'm a member of the HWS (Hedgehog Welfare Society,) and I have a hedgehog that I'm looking to find a home for: She is now ready to be a loving pet and I need room for rescues.
She is a young pinto, meaning she has white blotches. This coloring is very popular and costs a lot to buy a pinto from a breeder.
She is healthy according to her vet check, but is still working on losing a little weight from being overfed by her previous owners, so will require access to a wheel.
No hedgehog experience necessary, but knowledge of and ability to care for definitely are.
Hedgehogs need to be housed in a flat bottom (not wire) cage. Clear plastic tubs with holes drilled in the side are the cheapest, safest, and easiest to clean.
I (again,) also will have to require that she has a home with a wheel (also not wire.)
Rehoming fee $85
A female pinto from a breeder would run around $300, and not necessarily be social. I'm clearly concerned more about finding her a safe home than getting money.
